The purpose of Saddled Souls is to holistically better the quality of life of those served through equine assisted activities.

Meet Our Therapists

Our therapists provide medically necessary therapy services including the skillfully direct the movement of the horse to challenge and engage the participant’s neuromuscular and sensorimotor systems to address the participant’s challenges, such as deficits in balance, endurance, coordination, communications, speech, and attention.

Tara Long

Occupational Therapist

Physical Therapist

Tara received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University in 2010. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a minor in Exercise Science from Oakland University in 2005. A horse obsessed little girl, Tara began to explore the idea of Hippotherapy with one of her own children when traditional therapies began to plateau. She has worked extensively in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine for the last 13 years and is a certified clinical instructor through the APTA. Tara lives in Springfield with her veteran husband and 3 children.

Speech Language Pathologist

Louise has a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Psychology at Austin Peay State University. She holds active licenses in Clinical Social Work in both Tennessee and Kentucky. Prior to schooling she served in the US Army at Ft. Campbell and was a Chaplain Assistant. In addition to providing Psychotherapy, she has worked as a Behavior Technician, an Early Intervention Specialist, and am the Mental Health Consultant for Head Start in Montgomery County. She is excited to expand her expertise and services to provide equine assisted psychotherapy. Louise is the proud mother of 3.

Jenny Cobb

Administration

Jennifer (Jenny) is a native of Laurel, MS where she grew up on a farm with rows of crops, cattle, horses, sheep and pigs. She earned a Bachelor's of Accountancy from Mississippi State University and a Master's of Accountancy from the University of Oklahoma. Jenny's professional experience covers multiple industries with unique accounting including technology, banking, agriculture, architecture, non-profile, and currently mining. Her life outside work is spent with family and friends. Usually at a sports event cheering on her husband as he coaches or the kids as they play.

Samantha Stewart

Treasurer 

Samantha is a Clarksville native. She has been happily married for 8 years and has one daughter. She studied Agricultural Science and Biology at Austin Peay. Horses have always been a passion for her. You can always find her in the barn during her free time.
